Ingredients

  • ¾ cup cottage cheese

  • ¼ cup cream cheese, softened

  • ¾ cup quick oats

  • ½ cup freeze-dried strawberries

  • 3 tablespoons hemp hearts

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Extra crushed freeze dried or fresh strawberries , for topping

Directions

  • Add the cottage cheese, cream cheese, oats, freeze-dried strawberries, hemp hearts, maple syrup, and vanilla to a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until smooth and thick, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  • If the mixture is too thick to blend, add 1–2 teaspoons of milk at a time. Keep the mixture fairly thick so the bites set well.
  • Spoon the mixture into mini silicone muffin molds.
  • Smooth the tops and sprinkle with extra crushed freeze-dried strawberries or finely chopped fresh strawberries.
  • Freeze for about 1–2 hours, or until firm.
  • Remove from the molds and let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving for a softer, creamier texture.

Notes

  • Use freeze-dried strawberries rather than chewy dried strawberries.
    Cottage cheese blends completely smooth.
If the mixture is too thick, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time.
Avoid adding too much liquid so the bites freeze firmly.
Silicone molds make the bites much easier to remove.
Let them soften for several minutes before serving.

FAQS

How Many Does This Recipe Make?

This recipe should make approximately 10 mini cheesecake bites, depending on the size of your mold.

Approximate Protein

The exact amount will depend on the brands you use, but the full batch should provide roughly 35–40 grams of protein.

If you make 10 mini bites, that works out to approximately 3.5–4 grams of protein per bite.

What Kind of Cottage Cheese Should I Use?

A full-fat or 2% cottage cheese works well for a creamy texture.

Because everything is blended, the cottage cheese becomes smooth and you won’t notice the curds.

Why Use Freeze-Dried Strawberries?

Freeze-dried strawberries add concentrated strawberry flavor without adding much moisture.

Fresh strawberries contain more water, which can make the mixture softer and icier once frozen.

They also give these bites their naturally pink color.

Why Add Hemp Hearts?

Hemp hearts add extra protein, healthy fats, and nutrients without changing the flavor much.

They blend right into the mixture, making them an easy nutrition boost.

You can leave them out if needed, but the protein content will be a little lower.

Can I Use Rolled Oats Instead of Quick Oats?

Yes.

Quick oats blend more easily and create a smoother texture, so they’re my first choice here.

If using old-fashioned rolled oats, blend them first until they resemble a coarse flour, then add the remaining ingredients.

Can I Use Almond Flour Instead of Oats?

You can, but the texture will be softer and richer.

Oats give the bites more structure and make them feel more filling, which is why I prefer them for this recipe.

Do These Need to Stay Frozen?

They are best stored in the freezer.

Let them sit at room temperature for about 5–10 minutes before serving so they soften slightly and become creamy rather than completely frozen.

For younger toddlers, make sure they are soft enough to comfortably bite before serving.

Storage

Store the cheesecake bites in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 1 month.

If stacking them, place parchment paper between the layers.

Let them soften for a few minutes before eating.

Toddler Serving Tip

Mini silicone muffin molds work especially well because they create small, snack-sized portions.

Allow the bites to soften before serving, especially for younger toddlers.

Always serve foods in a size and texture appropriate for your child’s age and eating skills.
